Lauren & Dan | Engaged | Gibbet Hill Farm

We caught up with Lauren and Dan at Gibbet Hill Farm where they will be getting married next spring. And after rescheduling their engagement shoot at least three times (remember we only had 3 days of sun in June) we finally landed the perfect late June afternoon. But of course there were still hickups, and not friendly ones at that. During the shoot we all managed to get: zapped by electrified fences, stuck in ankle deep mud (Maria :-0), angry looks from mad cows, and bitten by every bug in the book. Did I mention the bugs? So many thanks to Lauren and Dan for being such good sports and having a blast with us. Can’t wait to do it all over again in April!

I must say that it was super cool to return from an extended early July summer vacation only to be hit with congratulatory voice and emails. This is undeniably a nice follow up to last summer’s Best of Boston award from Boston Magazine. The magazine gods are clearly in our favor and we are beyond any doubt humbled by the recognition!

Amidst all this rain we have been having here in New England, each one of our weddings over the past 5 weekends or more have ended up with fantastic weather. And thankfully for Melissa & Jason, the same held true for them. A big part of their day this past June 13th up in Rockport, was to shoot pictures with the bridal party in Rockport harbor and we ended up with 70, sunny, and just perfect.

Just received our copy of the Fall/Winter Boston weddings magazine which included a feature photo we shot at the Taj Hotel in downtown Boston. The photo is part of a story on local Boston venues that lend a hand to memorable photography and the Taj Boston is definitely one of our local favorites.

SOWA Open Market | South End

Last Sunday Maria and I spent a late morning checking out the SOWA Open Market in the South End on Harrison Avenue. There is a wide variety of vendors selling everything from original art, cool tee shirts, to just plain old flea market stuff (you know the saying, one man’s garbage another man’s treasure, or something to that effect). We actually came across some vintage suitcases one of which we purchased for an upcoming photoshoot from VintageSteph at www.VintageSteph.com. We also found a fun watercolor painting that we bought from the artist Greg Stones of www.GregStones.com.

And of course I had my camera in tow. If you are a photographer looking for a cool spot for a photoshoot, or just to take random pics of gosh knows what like I did, the SOWA market is worth checking out.
