Hedge Funds Cares is an international charity, supported largely by the hedge fund industry, whose sole mission is preventing and treating child abuse. Since 1998, they have awarded over 800 grants totaling $40 million. The Boston fundraising event uses a silent auction to help raise money with items ranging from sports memorabilia to vacations in the Bahamas. This was the third year I have photographed the event.

Sen. Scott Brown was honored at the Boston event for his courage earlier this year in sharing his own experience regarding abuse as a child. Brown’s special assistant Jennifer Franks was on hand to receive the award from Hedge Funds Cares founder Rob Davis.

Some of the design ideas included… Drinks: Missletoe Martini and a Snow White Martini | Buffet: Golden Beat Salad, Cider Glazed Pork, New England Seafood Pot Pie | Desserts/Mini Sweets: Mini Peacan Pies, Chocolate Truffles, Hot Chocolate Shooters, and you can’t forget the Egg Nog!  John of blueGuava put together a tremendous arrangement of flowers and DJ Deja of Music Management DJ’d the event. Also, the in-house lighting really added to the ambience of this showcase.
