Just after a photoshoot this past Saturday at MIT (about 5PM) I was walking back to my car parked near the Charles and saw this errie looking, low dark cloud passing by the Prudential Bldg.. Mind you, in the back of my mind was the fact that the day was the much hyped May 21st, End of the World Day. I must admit my mind raced around for a little bit. Hey, the fog was really dark and definitely a sight I haven’t seen before in Boston.

Want to share a really fun and colorful editorial shoot we did for a new event magazine, Bliss Celebrations, which is on the shelves now. Tasha Bracken and her company SD Events created a wonderland-inspired bridal luncheon at Upstairs on the Square in Cambridge for our shoot. And I am sure neither you nor I have ever seen quite a setup like this one!

So many talented vendors came together and lent their creativity to design this bridal luncheon.

Dropkick Murphys | House of Blues | Happy St. Patrick’s Day

What better way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day and celebrate my Irish heritage than to photograph a Dropkick Murphys Concert at the House of Blues in Boston!! It was Hot, it was LOUD, and it was Wicked Pissah!! And if there was ever a band to pull off using my favorite instrument, the bagpipes, regularly in their music, this IS the band. And I must give a giant Thanks to Tim Brennan (guitarist) and his awesome wife for the huge VIP hookup!!!

We kicked off the 2011 season with a bang this January by photographing the dazzling wedding of Leah Francona, daughter to Red Sox coach Terry Francona. Exquisitely planned and coordinated by Rafanelli Events, the wedding ceremony was held at the historic Old South Church with the wedding reception just across the street at the Boston Public Library. And my most notable and favorite detail of the night, aside from the happy couple of course, was the hot apple cider and donuts awaiting the guests on their way out into a cold January night. Loved that!!!

Kimberely & Dennis | Wedding | Boston Public Library

The phrase “takes the cake” really comes to mind when I discuss Kimberely and Dennis’s wedding at the Boston Public Library. All the ingredients were in place to make this one memorable event. A phenomenal event planning company, venue, lighting, ect, but the secret ingredient that will keep guests talking about this wedding for likely the rest of their lives was… Cirque du Soleil. Yes, that is right my blog faithful, Cirque du Soleil performed for the dinner time entertainment! The shocked looked on guests faces as the performers entered Bates Hall during the dinner hour was nothing short of priceless. And as a photographer privileged to be mingling amongst the guests throughout the evening really allowed me to hear the chatter of amazement. And even a few cell phone calls to friends to say “you can’t believe the wedding I am at right now!”

Dragon Downspouts | Downtown Boston | Can you name this church?

We have just wrapped up a 2 month project with a very historical and wonderful church in downtown Boston. A full blog post is to come, but had to share this photo of their Dragon Downspouts. These are very hard to see from street level (although possible), and it is a unique design feature of the church that probably most Bostonians never new existed. Having a wedding featured in Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style Magazine is always special. And having this wedding featured in the 2010 New England Issue was just as sweet! Earlier this month I blogged about Jessica and Scott’s wedding on Cape Cod and it was fantastic to see it actually in print! And seriously guys, the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream surprise brought in at the end of the wedding was a super cool touch!
