Dragon Downspouts | Downtown Boston | Can you name this church?

We have just wrapped up a 2 month project with a very historical and wonderful church in downtown Boston. A full blog post is to come, but had to share this photo of their Dragon Downspouts. These are very hard to see from street level (although possible), and it is a unique design feature of the church that probably most Bostonians never new existed. Having a wedding featured in Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style Magazine is always special. And having this wedding featured in the 2010 New England Issue was just as sweet! Earlier this month I blogged about Jessica and Scott’s wedding on Cape Cod and it was fantastic to see it actually in print! And seriously guys, the Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream surprise brought in at the end of the wedding was a super cool touch!

Jessica and her husband Scott are just simply put, fantastic people. They have become good friends over the years and I am truly fortunate to know them outside of the wedding industry. Jessica (managing editor of grace ormonde Wedding Style magazine) works with a lot of amazing photographers both locally and from around the world on a regular basis and when she asked the question, “Are you open the weekend of October 9th?”, I was truly humbled and honored that she thought of us. I must say that we were so privledged again to work with and photograph just such a stunningly beautiful bride with the most sincere and down to earth personality! The groom was pretty chill to! And to photograph our third Boston Public Library wedding of the year was an added bonus. The day was highlighted by simply an amazing Monique Lhuillier dress, an absolutely awesome bouquet created by Marc Hall of Winstons, decadent finger foods and speciality drinks, and most importantly .. elegantly designed down to the smallest of details by the prodigious team at Rafanelli Events.

Hey everyone, it’s Maria! Thinking of planning a winter/holiday themed wedding or event? Here are some great ideas from an amazing Boston venue, The Liberty Hotel in Beacon Hill!

Some of the design ideas included… Drinks: Missletoe Martini and a Snow White Martini | Buffet: Golden Beat Salad, Cider Glazed Pork, New England Seafood Pot Pie | Desserts/Mini Sweets: Mini Peacan Pies, Chocolate Truffles, Hot Chocolate Shooters, and you can’t forget the Egg Nog! John of blueGuava put together a tremendous arrangement of flowers and DJ Deja of Music Management DJ’d the event. Also, the in-house lighting really added to the ambience of this showcase.

Probably one of our favorite venues on Cape Cod for a wedding is definitely the Chatham Bars Inn. Rain or shine, we love this venue! Alyssa & Scott did have some rain on their day, but the wedding was a blast and we were still able to squeeze in time to get outside for some photos. Enjoy!!!

Alyssa & Scott | Rehearsal Dinner | Chatham Bars Inn

Alyssa and Scott had an amazing wedding (which I will be posting later on this week) and their rehearsal dinner / clambake at the Chatham Bars Inn Beach House was quintessential Cape Cod. From the invitations, lobster lollipops, to the bride’s sailor inspired dress the details were simple and just perfect. Guests danced all night to a bluegrass band and enjoyed the beautiful ocean views that the Chatham Bars Inn Beach House offers.

Aynslie & Matt | Married | Lyman Estate Wedding

With my wedding season dying down now, I have had a lot more time to blog with lots of great posts planned and coming soon. We shot this Lyman Estate Wedding this past August and it was the perfect setting for this victorian-esque themed wedding. The Lyman Estate, tucked away in Waltham, MA, is a grand mansion set amidst extensive lawns and gardens. Notably, it is where the waltz was introduced to Boston society in their ballroom.
